CTRL + A problem in MS Word 2007

My MS Word 2007 (on XP)  is making á when I hit CTRL +A instead of selecting all. I think it might have to do with a language toolbar that popped up last week, but I can't get it to open again, it just flashes and disappears. All language is set to english though in Word. It works right in other programs. System restore back past the date that toolbar popped up didn't fix it either.

My MS Word 2007 (on XP)  is making á when I hit CTRL +A instead of selecting all ...

This sounds like a keyboard shortcut has beenre assigned to Insert, Symbol, á. Select Symbol, More Symbols from the Insert tab's Symbols group. Locate and select á, (fifth one down the left-hand column ...?) then click the Shortcut Key button. The default is Ctrl+', A but yours may have been changed to simply Ctrl+A. Select the Current keys: and click Remove or Reset All. Assign a new shortcut key if desired. Remember to click OK on the way out.

Yes!  This fixed it - thank you!!  Why is it we can mess these things up much easier than fixing them?  LOL.
