How can I get my Word documents to stop cascading?  I need to them to 'pile up' on my desktop as though they were a pile of paper on my desk.

The only way I know of is to maximize them all.

I too am driven up the wall by the way MS application windows cascade on the Desktop (Windows 7).

I don't like maximising windows so I have all my open application windows neatly piled on top of each other to a specific size.  When using Outlook / Word and opening multiple emails / replies /documents etc., MS thinks it is being helpful by slightly off-setting each window in a cascading fashion,   MS needs to have a switch available to turn this 'feature' off so all windows open excatly on top of each other.

I'm with the OP.  I find it VERY annoying.   Is there a method of turning this behaviour off?

    Thanks.

I tried it and it didn't help.  It isn't an issue with how Windows is interacting with Word it is a Word issue.  Thanks for your help though.

    Hello,

Here is a link to show you what I mean.  All my Word documents are piled up on one spot of my desktop so I can use the other half to view my browser window.

As I mentioned before, Word has done this before after I went in and played around but I never actually did anything to make stop cascading so I have no idea why it did so.  Periodically, my documents begin to cascade and although I haven't noticed what, when, or why it does I assume it is related to updates my computer receives.  Regardless, I just need it to stop and I'd like to know what to do to stop it.

    Thanks.

Thanks but that isn't going to be useful.
