Erroneous message about macro language support

When I open a Word document or Word itself, I get this message:" Microsoft Word This document contains macros.  Macro language support for this application is disabled.  Features requiring VBA are not available.  Would you like to open this document read-only? This error usually occurs because of macro security settings. If you know that the macro comes from a source that you trust, you can change your macro security settings to allow you to enable the macro." etc, etc. I tried every combinations under File, Options, Trust Center, Trust Center Settings and Macro Settings and nothing seems to work. Once I press enter, the message goes away and Word works fine. Once a document is opened, if I open another one, this message does not appear. It is only when I start Word or a Word document. I re-install the whole Office Suite but the same message appears. I had Office 2010 Professional before which I un-installed before installing Office 2013 Professional. I am using the same Macro Settings that I use on my laptop with Office 2010 Professional. Hope you can help, thanks. PS I run Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.

I believe that it will be up to ABBYY FineReader to fix their software.  At lease we now know that they are aware of the problem.  Thanks for that feedback.

If I have it, it came with Office 2013. I know I can open a PDF file as a Word document.  That is one of the reasons I purchased Office 2013. Is this what you mean? If yes I don't really way to delete this since I use it. I don't understand, my son has also Office 2013 Professional and he does not have this problem. Weird.

I checked again my add-ins and it was my ABBYY Fine Reader that came with my Epson Scanner.  I uninstall it and the problem went away.  I'll have to find an upgrade to this reader that is compatible with Office 2013 Word.

Thanks Mr. Robbins

Do you have the Acrobat PDFMaker add-in.

It has been reported that uninstalling that overcomes an issue with a message appearing that states "The document contains macros. Macro support for this application is disabled. Features requiring VBA are not available. Would you like to open this document as a read only?"

I renamed it NNormal.dotm and restarted Word but I still got the same message.

Try this: Exit Word and rename Normal.dotm in your user profile. Restart Word.
