The PivotChart button doesn't work. It isn't grayed out; when I mouse over it the button highlights but when I click on it nothing happens.

I'm trying to create a PivotChart from a PivotTable

EXCEL 2007

Are you clicking in the underlying data then:-

Insert tab.

Tables group.

Click on the drop down arrow beneath:-

PivotTable

 - then click on:-

PivotChart

The Create PivotTable with PivotChart window should open.

Click:-

OK

(if you are happy with the Table/Range: setting).

The PivotTable Field List should now appear on the right hand side.

Select the fields you want to appear on the chart.
