Insert Options Button

Up until recently, when filling a series of rows or columns with a data series or formula, the Insert Options button appeared and allowed me to copy only the values, not the cell formatting.  That button no longer shows up when I try to fill a range.  The "Show Insert Options smart button" option is checked in Preferences.  Any idea why it went away, and more importantly how I can get it to start coming back again?

First steps any time things seem to be 'abnormal' :-)

    1. Confirm that the OS & Office are fully up to date
    2. Run Disk Utility to repair disk permissions
    3. Restart the Mac

If that doesn't correct the problem there is additional troubleshooting to be done.

Thanks Bob.  Actually, the Insert Options button appeared to come back on its own.  I had tried restarting Excel, restarting the computer, etc., to no avail.  However, while still working in Excel it just came back about an hour later.  I have no idea whether I did anything to make it come back or not.

I'll try repairing disk permissions if it happens again.  Thanks for the help.
