I find that in Word and PowerPoint, I can manipulate images with REMOVE BACKGROUND and ARTISTIC EFFECTS but I can't find these functons in Publisher. Considering you are often working with images within Publisher, it would be good to be able to easily access these functions. How do I locate them?

Assuming you are using Pub 2010 you can select the image and the 'Picture tools' tab will show you the option that are available to you with Publisher. Unfortunately you will not get all the same options as you find in some of the other Office programs. This is as it always has been. Publisher has always been the 'neglected adopted step child of the Office family'.

Personally I think you should be doing your image editing in a third party image editor that is specifically designed for such things. If you don't have one then there are even good freebies such as irfanview and paint.net. None of the image editing tools in any Office app can compare.

Thanks. I submitted the following: PowerPoint, Word etc have the PICTURE TOOLS > FORMAT ribbon with REMOVE BACKGROUND and ARTISTIC EFFECTS, whereas Publisher does not have these options. It would be great to have the picture formatting options consistent across the whole office suite.
