The Command+` keystroke should work in both applications. As John indicated, your OS X System Preferences settings may have an influence.

with mac excel you can press CTRL TAB to shuffle between open excel docs, is there anything for open word docs to do this?
If I want to move between open word documents, the mac TAB CMMD method only moves me between all open applications.

Thanks John, thanks Bob,
command is working , ill have a look at those shortcuts their very useful especially for desktop changes (ctrl + arrow keys)
Command + F6 will rotate open documents for you.
Note that Apple OS X has a bad habit of "stealing" the function keys. You may have to go into your System Preferences and unassign F6 before you can get it to work in Word.
Cheers
