Product code already used???

I purchased Office 365 a couple of weeks ago.  I registered but could not get it installed. Then my windows 8 failed and I spent several hours on the phone to call centres in Asia trying to get it up and running again. Finally we have decided to reinstall Windows 8 as the only solution. This done I now want to load my Office 365.  I enter the Product key in the appropriate place and get a message that this cod e has already been used so I go to my account which then tells me that I do not have Office and that I should buy a copy.  I paid R699 at Icredible cvonnection and have a receipt to prove this. Please help me reslove this impasse.  All of these delays are costing me time and money and my subscription is ticking away.

This guy is right. Microsoft is notorious for having a horrible activation/deactivation process for their Office program and make it extremely difficult for IT people like myself to manage multiple installations tied to 1 account. They will only take it seriously when you stop buying their products / ask for your money back.

I want to give up on Microsoft and just use Open Office with how frustrating the activation process is. Once upon a time you could just put in a key and be good to go... I don't care so much if its tied to account, but at least don't cap the number of keys you can tie to 1 account, make OEM installations more manageable (can deactivate & move installtions), distinguish installations by both key and date added when going to activate the program from the client (Instead of showing, for example, Office (1), Office(2), Office(3), etc.).....

If Nayana's suggestion doesn't work then don't let them take advantage of you.

If you want action, DEMAND your money back.

The product is defective. Office 365 is a cash grab. The Office 2013 "Retail" license terms change is a CASH GRAB.  MS only recognizes "the bottom line"

You can buy it again when it is eventually working. Let other people waste their time trying to figure out the answer.

Office 365 is currently having a lot of problems installing. It works for some people and not for others. You are getting one of the typical error messages. No consistent fix has been provided by MS. Some people who have phoned tech support and actually got through eventually ended up getting a generic reply that MS was aware of the problem and someone would call them back in 3 to 5 DAYS. In the mean time you are not getting what you paid for.

You have a couple of options:

    1.     Keep trying until it works

    2.     Wait until you hear of a fix (keep checking this forum)

    3.     “Vote with your Feet”, cancel your subscription until the problem is understood and fixed

Actually, if you want to get M$'s attention, call your credit card company and have the charge reversed for non delivery.  Just point them to this site for proof of the widespread problem.

Why should they get something for nothing!

I had a typo in my email address used to activate office 2013, now I am stuck!

When activating Office 2013 home and business I had a typo in my email address domain name.  Now I am stuck because the verification email isn't going to an actual email box, so I can't verify.  If I try to start over the product key is rejected as it is already in use!

    HELP!!

Update, after waiting 90min on hold MS the fix is to install the product (I happened to have the download) and then click "I want to activate with product key", then put a bogus code in so it will switch to give you a 'I want to activate by telephone".  Call the number on the screen and explain everything, then they will activate your OFFICE 2013!  The last step is to start a new live account and switch accounts.  What a pain MS!

Move Office 365 University to a New Email Account - barely possible

Well after nearly 2 hours of hold time, someone finally picked up.  I explained my situation and he said he's been getting a flood of phone calls in the past week regarding the issue.  He explained that many people have registered for Office 365 with incorrect or misspelled email addresses/accounts and they currently have no power to change this.  He only offered to escalate the issue to the next level and take down my contact information.

For anyone with the same issue, you should keep calling and make some noise over this because it's insane that MS locks in your account, giving you no ability to change it.  If I get no reply back on this in a few days, I will try and cancel my Office 365 University subscription.

However, I am now running into a roadblock because they require me to re-verify my university status.  When I go enter my .edu address, they tell me it has already been used for verification of the 365 subscription that customer support just cancelled.  I've emailed them back about it and hopefully they can correct this.

    Hello Gordon,

As per the description provided, it looks like you are having issues reinstalling Office 365 University edition on the same Computer.

In order to reinstall Office 365, you need deactivate the subscription then uninstall the program and reinstall it.

Follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps:

    1. Restart the Computer. To deactivate the Office 365, Go to www.office.com/myaccount and then, in the Current PC Installs section, click Deactivate.
    2. Once done, run the fix it from the link below which completely removes the Office 2013 traces.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501

    1. Then restart the Computer and try to reinstall Office 365.

Let us know if the above steps helped to resolve the issue.

    Thank You.
