I'm getting error "Sorry there was a problem saving your document" - how to rescue work I was working on?

Hi,

I run into a problem that I'm unable to save a document to SkyDrive - and I cannot even download it because the dialog is saying "Sorry there was a problem saving your document".

This happens quite often - so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong. Maybe my attachments are too big?

The question is: how to troubleshoot this? How to prevent this?

Thanks!

I don't think you are doing anything wrong.

If you have a file open right now, just us SAVE AS to save it to your local HD to save your current changes.

Off the top of my head it sounds like an issue with your internet connection.

Try downloading the file to your local drive, then opening it in the application, make changes, save to local drive and finally upload to skydrive. That way your changes are safe if there is an internet problem.  You have the option of repeating the upload until it works.

Most of Microsoft's stuff has quit working.

I'm about to abandon the entire thing.

CR, then you have to talk to your IT department. There is nothing we can do about local restrictions.

    Do you have a question?

No problem with Internet connection. Can not download to local drive as there are restrictions from work computer.

I also have repeated problems with errors on saving which result in losing work. No other application shows any sign of a problem with the internet connection. I can't reproduce the error. I am using Office 2011 on a Mac (OSX 10.8.2) with Safari (6.0.2). I just switched to 32 bit mode on the basis of a Microsoft help article, but it's to soon to say if that has made a difference.

Annoyingly the pop-up window in Skydrive that asks 'Did you run into any issues?' doesn't actually allow the answer yes!
