Hi All

About 6 weeks ago I encounter the problem listed below and posted on this site on Feb 14th 2013 : -

"Good Evening. This has been occurring for the past few days. Possibly since Tuesdays' updates... If I wish to copy text(letters or numbers) from Word or an IE9 web page to a cell within Excel 2010, at the paste option I have lost the "A" for text. I still have the other two paste options showing as available, but they too appear to be dysfunctional. No problems with cut/copy or paste in OneNote.

In anticipation of an answer Thank you"...the link is below

As this problem has returned and I have 7 weeks of updates to install if I do a "System Restore"...Can I reinstall Excel from Office Home & Student  2010 DVD, overwriting the program without affecting the data within the Office program?.

Note. I still have normal cut and paste options in OneNote and Word.

In anticipation...Thankyou

Are you referring to Values and number formatting under Paste values in Excel?

    Hi,

    Thank you for replying.

Let us open Excel in safe mode and check. Follow the steps:

    1. Click on Start ->All Programs.
    2. Go to Accessories -> Click on RUN.
    3. Type Excel /safe (leave a space after Excel) -> Click OK.

If Excel safe works, then follow the steps disable the add-ins:

    1. Click on File -> Go to Options.
    2. Click on Add-ins -> select an add-in type ->Click Go

3.Uncheck the Add-ins to disable -> Click OK.

I hope the steps provided fixes the issue, if not reply and we will be happy to help you.

    Thank you

    Good morning....

I repaired the Office installation IAW the above link using Add/Remove programs...but I still have the same issue, and again only with Excel. I do have 3 "Add-ins" in the Excel Toolbar.... "Box.MSExcel_AddIn",  2. "ABBYY FineReader 9.0 Sprint Excel COM Add-In" and 3. "Send to Bluetooth". I am not sure if and how I can disable these to troubleshoot this problem further!

    In anticipation of help...Thank you
