Error - Microsoft Access has stopped working

Windows 7 sp1 - MS Office 2010 sp1, complete install on local workstation.

Have 2 completely different databases with 2 completely different user groups.

Users from each group have the above problem.

I just tried to open this access file on the workstation with the following options open database with /decompile, compact & repair, etc etc.  Cannot do anything in the database.

Copied database to my machine - no error - I can do anything I want in the database.

I've installed all microsoft updates - checked the COM addins etc.

Something is different between the machines and I have no idea what.

Lastest SP1, openned database with decompile, clicked the Compact & Repair, removed the form with macros etc etc.

Database is not compiled.  Even if I create a new database on this workstation add 1 table and a query.  Open and close the query or table multiple times I will get this error.

I have the same problem with msaccess 64-bit faulting in imjp10k.dll on one particular machine (win7)

It happens after a db is opened, a soon as a table (local or non) is accessed.  It happens on more than one database.

The problem is persistent but has randomness to it.  At times, compacting or recompiling a database will help.  Then the problem will recur after the database has been closed and reopened.  Always, the same database can be opened from another machine without problems.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled office with no change.  Malware scans show clean.  The version of imjp10k.dll is identical to the one on my older machine which has no problems and also runs 64-bit Access on win7.

Any suggestions?  I can't find exactly what imjp10k is for..this machine uses only English, fwiw.

Has this issue been resolved I am currently working with a Lab of computers (20) with the exact same issue? The databases in the lab work fine on other computers, but will not open in the lab computers they crash and present the same error code in the event viewer as the one listed in this post. I know this is an older post but I have not been able to find any references to this error any place else.

I would recommend looking through the following article and then install the fix in the resolution section to see if that helps.

2625046          Access 2010 crashes after you install Office 2010 Service Pack 1, and the error signature in Event Viewer points to the Vbe7.dll file
