Using a Pivot Table as the Data Source for another Pivot Table

In my workbook on the "Sheet1" tab, I have a Pivot Table (PivotTable1) whose Data Source is an external database (which takes ~20 minutes to update).  I would like to create a new Pivot Table (PivotTable2) on the "Sheet2" tab whose Data Source is PivotTable1.  (The reason for creating this second Pitvot Table is because I need to add calculated fields, which PivotTable1 will not permit me to do . . . I guess because its Data Source is an external database.)

Is there a way I can use PivotTable1 as the Data Source for PivotTable2?  If so, can someone kindly tell me how to do it?  Thanks in advance for any assistance.

emerald77 I don´t know if you solved your problem already but despite the answer you received it is possible to create a pT from another one.

If you press CMD+ALT+P a dialog box open where you can choose the option you are looking for.

    Hope its helps

Thanks for the suggestion.  However, my workbook is utilized by dozens of people, and to ask all of them to install the free add-in is just not feasible.

    Thanks all the same.

    Hi,

No, you cannot use PivotTable1 as the Data Source for PivotTable2.

That's what I thought, although I was hoping a work-around might exist.  Thanks for your help.
