Cycle through objects in Powerpoint

I have two text boxes that I would like to appear repeatedly on a PowerPoint slide. For example I want box one to appear for five seconds, then box two, then box one again, box two, etc. This needs to appear on each slide in the presentation so I can't set it up with each box on a separate slide and then repeat the show.

Can anyone suggest a way to do this?

Thanks

Bill

    Thanks Heather:

I have them animated so I can show box 1 , then box 2 but I'm not sure how to set the animation so it continues with box 1, box 2, box 1, box 2, etc. until I stop the presentation.

Well, I was going to suggest using the Emphasis animation "Transparency" and setting the transparency to 100%, and then setting the Timing to "repeat," but I just checked and "repeat" is not an option for that particular animation. Grrrr...

I am not sure there is a way to easily do what you are describing. Someone please correct me. This is going to bug me all day long now.

Bill, simply put, there's no way (well apart from programming new animations) to have a series of animations repeat in a loop on one slide. Hope I'm wrong and someone knows better.

If you just need two texts to loop the easiest way is to make (have made?) an animated gif.

This demo shows what I mean.

This wouldn't be too difficult with a bit of VBA.  If you'll play this on your own PC or one where you're more or less a trusted user, that'd be the way to go.

If it's to distribute to John Doe and Jane Random, then you can't be sure their security settings will permit the VBA to work.

I guess I am a bit unsure as to what exactly you are trying to do, but it sounds like you might be able to simply add the two boxes to the slide master (View-->Slide Master), and animate them. I think I am missing something...
