Using Subtotal Function - Excel 2010 doesn't Automatically Outline

I recently upgraded to Excel 2010 after spending many years with 2003.  I'm working with several large datasets that I need to subtotal and group.  The subtotal function is working fine however it's outlining or grouping the rows together like 2003 did.  Can anyone help me find the checkbox or hidden button I need to push to get this functionallity?

    Hi,

After outlining, you may have accidentally pressed ctrl+8 (short cut key to hide/unhide groupings).  Press Ctrl+8 to recheck.

My mistake.  I was apparently typing too fast and missed a key word.

"It's NOT outlining or grouping the rows together like 2003 did."

Hopefully that's a bit more clear.

You question is not clear. You state that "it's outlining or grouping the rows together like 2003 did". So what is 2010 doing that 2003 did not or vice versa?
