How do I disable this footnote error message?

In MS Word 2010, I frequently edit footnotes and get the error "This is not a valid action for footnotes." I understand why I get it and how to do my editing around it. That's not why I'm writing. What I want to know is whether there is a setting somewhere in Word that can disable this message or alter when it appears. It wastes my time when I have to click "okay" to make the message window close.  I wish there were a checkbox within the dialog window that allowed me to choose "do not show again." Is there such a setting elsewhere in Word?

I found the following instructions for editing the registry to stop a different error message from appearing. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925757   Is there a registry hack for my concern that you are aware of?

No, there isn't.  The warning that is the subject of the Knowledge Base article 925757 has to do with security and there is a potential that if the warning is supressed, you could unknowingly expose your computer to a threat.  The error message that you are receiving is of a completely different type and there is no provision for disabling it.
