Original title: dw20dotexecute

My project entails getting contact data from websites.  I have been copying and pasting this material into Word documents.  Then I click on the words with embedded hyperlinks to copy that info and paste it into the same Word documents.  The problem I am having is with an error message labeled dw20.execute. It is a bright yellow message that says, "This program will open outside of protected Mode.  Internet Explorer's Protected Mode helps protect your computer.  If you do not trust this website, do not open this program." It appears to be published by Microsoft with the suggestion "Don't Allow."

When I click "Don't Allow,"  several other popups occur.  One of them says, "Application has generated an exception that could not be handled."

Please explain.  Thanks.

I am using Office 2003 with Win 7.

The dw20.exe program is an error-reporting program. It is not necessary, and you can disable it. Follow the steps at http://www.ehow.com/how_5166791_remove-dwexe.html.

However, the reason the dw20 message appears is that some other error is occurring while you're trying to copy and paste from IE to Word. That error may cause a different message, or it may crash IE or Word or both.
