Column data disappearing when using sub totals.

Question

I have 3 columns, A a list of names, B a task done, C  total.  I have sub-totaled the tasks B with the total appearing in the total column C. 

In B I get the name of "task.total" with the total in the Total column but no name in A, it is blank.  Can the name be included, so I can visually see who has done which task and how many times using a chart?

The titles stay across row A - name, task, total.

B5 forum new total C5 5 (total)

B13 forum read total C5 46 (total

B21 forum response total C21 51 (total)

The above is the data for one person but the name isn't in column A and the name did appear on every row before the subtotal was added.

It then goes on to the next person giving the same info ie

B23 forum new total C23 1 (total)

B30 forum read total C30 57 (total

B37 forum response total C37 (total)
