OneNote can't start

I've been having this issue for a while now. I had Office 2010 and used OneNote regularly. Then I installed the 2013 preview. Around that time is when I started getting errors in opening OneNote. I can still use the web interface but the actual software is much better. I tried many fixes at that time and couldn't get anything to work.

Now I deleted all of my office files and installed 2013. Surprisingly I still get an error with OneNote:

"OneNote can't start. This might be because there's not enough free disk space or because we don't have permission to write to files in your user settings folder.

If you're out of disk space, please try to free some up. Otherwise, contact your system administrator."

Disk space available: 300+ GB. Why wouldn't it be able to write files in the settings folder if I am an admin?

Please help!

    Open :Run

    type: %temp%

    your temp folder will open.

look for anything that says "onenote" and delete it.

    Worked for me

Exactly the same problem (although I had no problem when first installed...) and OneNote works if I run as administrator... frustrating that I can't make it work without this though.

Ok here is what got it to work. After uninstalling and reinstalling many times, I deleted the OneNote folders in the AppData/local/microsoft/ and AppData/roaming/microsoft folders. Then I ran OneNote as an administrator and it worked. Now I need to run it as an administrator every time but at least it works. Very bizarre.
