Powerpoint objects self-update

Hi Everyone,

in a powerpoint (2003) slide I attached as "object" an external Excel file which includes 2 worksheets: a table data in the first worksheet (not to be shown in the presentation), and a "layout table" with some functions working on inputed data (to be shown in the presentation).

The most important formula is the "=TODAY()" function which automatically returs the present date and changes the information shown in the "layout table".

Basically, I need to show this "layout table" as object in a powerpoint file BUT the layout table won't update when day changes.

Can you please help me?

Thank You very much!

    Hi Shyam,

the spreadsheet correctly updates itself when double-clicked but I need this operation to be performed automatically.

Basically, this powerpoint is shown on a secondary monitor (TV) in a hospital room and data will be updated only once per month, thus noone should open the spreadsheet everyday to refresh it.

    Thank You for Your help

Have you tried dbl-clicking the object to update the spreadsheet? Once inserted what you see is a snapshot of the state of the spreadsheet and PowerPoint will update the content if it is linked when you open the presentation. To force an update of content you would need to activate the spreadsheet.
