envelopes vertical misaligned

I'm trying to print on envelopes sized 5 1/2" x 7 1/4" with an HP LaserJet P2055dn.  The printing is misaligned such that only a bit of the text prints on the envelope.  When I change none of the settings, but print on 8 1/2" x 11" paper, the addresses appear at the bottom of the page.  Entering negative values on positioning the text are not accepted.

Anyone know how to manage where the address fields appear such that they are aligned properly on an envelope?

Fact is, I did all those things.  It was as though the page size was always 11", regardless of my having set it to 5 1/4" in the envelopes tool, AND it insisted on centering the address information on the page, which resulted in just a bit of text or no text.

I am able now to print, having forced the text up by entering a bottom margin of 6", which value disappeared without my having done anything, but the text remains properly positioned.

I'm either doing something terribly wrong, or there is a bug between Word and/or the HP printer driver, or perhaps something needs to be reinstalled.  With the same software and printer, I previously have had no problem printing on the same sized envelopes.  Who knows what is going to happen tomorrow.

Printing this years' Christmas cards has been a struggle:  initially, when I did a mail merge for my envelopes, everything worked great until I went to print, at which time all the text disappeared - couldn't print to the printer, the print file, or pdf

    • nothing.  Deleting the file, com.microsoft.word.plist, resolve this problem, only to reveal the positioning problem mentioned here.  It all seems very flakey to me.

To print envelopes when you go in to Tools > Envelopes. There is actually a separate Page setup for envelopes.  Open That set up and set 51/2 by 71/4  The next you have to figure out how your printer feed envelopes.  you'll have to waste a couple of envelopes to determine. Then set print direction in the setup. once set this doesn't never need to be reset. You'll have to change envelope size according to envelopes you need to use, accordingly

See this Movie. Pardon the amateur quality. I Fuzzed up parts for obvious reasons.
