Remove watermark from envelope

I want to include an envelope in the same file with a one-page letter. Is there a way to print a watermark on the letter but omit it from the envelope? I've seen questions posted and answered here about similar issues and the resolution apparently involves spliting the document into sections. I've never worked with sections and when I tried experimenting with that solution, I keep ending up with a blank page. Furthermore, those answers also talk about working with the header or footer. I don't find a way to add or remove a watermark to the header or footer.

Using WORD 2010.

TIA,

Phil

When you add an envelope to a document, Word automatically inserts a section. Go to the page after the envelope and double-click the header. On the Header & Footer Tools Design tab, click to deselect "Link to Previous"; then you can add a watermark to that section.

Stefan was answering a question about how to remove a watermark from an envelope, not how to add it (as you asked in the thread you started). Stefan was referring to adding a watermark to the letter, not the envelope.

Thanks, I found your answer when I posted the other question.  I finally got it to work. Your instructions are clear once you understand how to do it. Unfortunately, it took me a lot of tries to do it right.  Instructions for newbies like me need to be more detailed= like Step 1, Step 2 etc. After I finally got it all set up the envelope was too big to put in my printer paper tray when positioned like a regular 8x11 paper.  When I put it into the printer tray 90 degrees to that, with the short end of envelope at the front of paper tray, the picture is printed along the height of the envelope.  It goes across the height of the envelope.  Is it possible to shift the orientation of the graphic in word?  Do I need to make the adjustments to my printer?
