Do you have the disk & product key for Office Standard 2010?

Do you use a 64-bit operating system?

64-bit Office can be installed only on a 64-bit Windows machine. Before you install the 64-bit version of Office, you will have to ensure that you uninstall the 32-bit version of Office and any 32-bit Office related programs, that may also include add-ins.

If you’re unable to uninstall Office Standard 2010 from the Control Panel, you may run the ‘Fixit’ (Method 2) provided in the link below to remove it from the computer. Once it’s done, restart the computer, and then try installing the 64-bit version of Office 2010.

Note: For Windows 64-bit, save the Fixit program onto the Desktop and then run the Fixit from the Desktop.

Note: Ensure you have the Office 2010 disk & product key before you run the Fixit.
