Multiple Selection from dropdown list?

Is there a way in a Word 2011 form to allow a user to select more than one option from a dropdown list and then display their selections? For example, if the user checks the box for a specific division, I want them to select the applicable departments from a dropdown (to minimize the length of the form). Since there might be several departments selected, I want the completed form to display the user's selections. Thoughts? Is this easier to do in Word 2010 for Windows?

If there is a way to do this, would the same form be useable by users on Mac or PC?

Thanks!

Hi

I have played around with Greg Maxey's Linked Formfield Dropdown Lists (http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/word_tip_pages/linked_formfield_dropdown_lists.html).

I managed to successfully recreate the two linked dropdown lists, one with Food Group, and the second for Food Item.

I cannot link a second Food Item dropdowns to the original Food Group.

For example I have the Food Group, and I select Fruit to set the parent dropdown.

I have two dependent dropdowns below it.

I select the first one, and choose Apple.

I try to select Pineapple unsuccessfully from the second dependent dropdown.

Is selecting a second dependent item possible?

I have the .dotm file at http://www.mediafire.com/?11lxo5q16j7rqvu

Thanks

The form controls available in Word 2011 are very limited.  The only kind of drop down list available is the combo box and the multi-select option is not available.  On the PC side (Word 2010) the list box control that has a multi-select feature is under Legacy Tools (ActiveX controls) and these are not supported on Word for the Mac 2011.

Please send feedback to Microsoft (Word > Help > Send Feedback) that you'd like to see these functions added to a future release of Word for the Mac.
