Pastng text boxes in same position

Word offsets objects when multiple pastes are made.  Each subsequent paste is offset slightly to the right and lower.  I need to paste in the same exact position on different pages and not be offset.  How do I modify the offset to 0 and 0?

Well, if you really want a text box, you could create an "example" box in the correct position and then create an AutoText entry from it. Then use the AutoText whenever you want to insert this particular text box.

How do I remove this default offset and allow paste to locate the text boxes on the same positions of different pages?

As far as I know, you can't do anything about the offset. However, using an AutoText entry (or some other type of Building Block) should provide a useful workaround. Have you tried it?

If you want to include portions of other documents, couldn't you just add them as block quotes in the text? To link the text (if that is required), use OLE (that is, "Paste Special" as "Link") or INCLUDETEXT fields (to bookmarks).

I am drafting a text document  which  refers to another document, kind of like a reference or research or commentary.  I want to insert pertinent passages from the reference document in the text 0of my commentary to show those portions of relevance  to the discussion.  My first thought was how easy it would be in Publisher by using continuing test boxes where one runs into another on a succeeding page.  But I'm working in Word.  Can I use columns?  No, the text flow s not right.  Can I use text boxes?  Difficult because they don't flow text.  Each box must be treated as one object, they cannot e connected.  Anyway, if I use text boxes then I have the problem on placing them on every page in the same position.  I don't know the best way to proceed.

If you are pasting on different pages, Word should maintain the correct position.

Note that if you want the exact same object to repeat on multiple pages, you should anchor it to the header. See http://wordfaqs.mvps.org/AnchorToHeader.htm.
