Is there a tool that can be used as an Add in to Msproject to calculate confidence level?

    Evaxxxx,

If you are referring to risk analysis using Monte Carlo simulation, there are a couple of references you might be interested in. One is an add-in called @Risk made by Palisade (http://www.palisade.com/risk/default.asp#versions). It took me a while to find version compatibility information, (they buried it pretty deep in their website), but it is compatible with Project 2003 through Project 2010, except not the 64 bit version of Project 2010. It is rather pricey.

If you'd like a quick free Monte Carlo simulation, you could check out Jack Dahlgren's Blackjack Monte Carlo simulator (http://masamiki.com/project/macros.htm). Jack created it several years ago and I don't know if it works with all versions of Project but it's certainly worth a try.

At one time there was also and add-in called Risk+ but I couldn't find any information about it in a quick Google search.

    John

Not that I'm aware of, but try searching the internet. The main problem is that a confidence level means different things to different people/organizations. So what do YOU mean by confidence level and how do you calculate it? It might be possible to create a forumla or simple VBA macro to calculate what you want.

Which verison of Project do you use?
