Progammatically turn off auto refresh

I have workbooks that are connected to an Access database. I need a way to turn off the Background refresh and the refresh on open properties programmatically.

The user needs to be able to freeze the imported values at a point in time. If I can't do that, can I turn off refresh manually and have a button to run the refresh?

Hi,

Data from external sources in Excel come in the table format.  Right click on any one cell in the Excel tabel range and select Connection properties.  See if there is an option to turn off auto refresh.

Hope this helps.

Check this article. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/248204 . Note that office 2010 is 14.0. So do the necessary changes in registry.
