Sure, here's a link to a test document.
Thanks!

Here's our scenario:
A customer sends us a document in Word 97-2003 format (.doc) that has tracked changes. The customer has an earlier version of Word, and has unchecked the "Highlight changes on screen" option (the equivalent of viewing the document in "Final" view). If the document is opened with "Protected View" enabled (for instance, if we open it from an email), the document is displayed in "Final" view. If the document is not opened in "Protected View" (for instance, if the user saves the document to a trusted location first), the document is displayed in "Final: Showing Markup" view.
Assuming I can't control how the document is sent to us, how can I ensure that Word always defaults to displaying the doc in "Final: Showing Markup" view, regardless of whether or not it's opened in "Protected View"?
Thanks in advance

Well I couldn't reproduce that issue at my end. Does this occur on all the documents which has track changes enabled?
What I found was that when the track changes is enabled, 'Final- Show Mark up' is what show up regardless of how the file is opened.
can you upload a sample file so that we can check?
