Creating a search button/function in MS excel 2013

Hi,

I have created a spreadsheet of candidates/applicants and I would like to create a front page in which I can type in a candidates name into a text box, hit a "Search" button and then be taken to that particular candidates details. I would also like it to flag if there are duplicate entries (if possible).

Currently I only have one worksheet to search on, however there will eventually be multiple worksheets to search on.

Can anyone please provide me with a STEP-BY-STEP guide on how to do this, as I am not an IT person (I have searched and asked previously on other forums and the information provided has been useless to me as it assumed I knew a lot more than I do).

And before anyone suggests it "CTRL"+"F" is not an option, I basically need this to look pretty, which is why I want it as a title page.

I need very basic, dumbed down instructions and Step-by-step instructions.

Thank you in advance for anyone that can assist.

Hello,

I'm afraid if you want to use such a solution you will need to learn about how these things all hang together. Otherwise, it might be better to pay a programmer to write and install some code and you just keep clicking buttons without knowing or caring what goes on under the hood.

A step by step guide cannot start from zero knowledge, since it would be far beyond the scope of a forum question. Sometimes instructions cannot be dumbed down, because things need to be identified and named correctly. If you want to drive a car, you need to know what the steering wheel is and what the throttle and the brake pedal do. If you don't learn that, then you won't be able to drive a car.

Also, you need to provide A LOT more information about your current data structure and how you want a result to be presented.  What does "be taken to that particular candidates details" mean?
