Access 2013

I'm creating a pretty simple database but I haven't worked with Access in many years and Access 2013 is completely new to me.

"Expr1000" is in one of my data fields and I can't get it out.  What I have done so far

  1. Gone to field in Property window for that control/Control Source.  The Expression Builder has Expr1000
  2. I remove it and save the table
  3. Come back in and field says "Unbound"  - GREAT
  4. Go back to the Property window for that control/Control Source and pick the actual field name from table.
  5. Save it
  6. Go back into table and it's back to Expr1000  ----- GRRRR!

And as long as that is in the control, I can't enter anything because I get an error message!

I don't what to do besides deleting the form and starting again.

I've done that with other issues I couldn't resolve.  Would really appreciate some way to trouble shoot.

Thanks,

Ruth

Are you picking the same field twice?

Have you compacted the database lately? That might clear it up. If it doesn't, delete the control, remove the form's RecordSource, save the form, compact the database, put the RecordSource back in place and add a new control.

Also take a look at the table in design view and look for Expr1000 in all the fields properties, descriptions, etc.

Deleting the RecordSource did it!  I did all the other steps several times without that and it didn't work.  Then, I reread your instructions, removed the RecordSource and it's fine.

It's a continuous form and I wanted the record sort by a field (happened to be the one I was having problems with) so the RecordSource was a query.  I may have had this field in twice before.

Thanks very much for your quick help,

    Ruth
