Font changes in emailed document

I send a document once a month to 10 different users by email and they use the Track Changes function to edit it. The fonts looks fine when I write the document on my Mac in Mac for Word (I've been using the 2008 version up to now and have just installed the 2011 version). The styles are also fine and uniformly applied to the text as I have set them up. I save the document as a docx.

When users download the document, turn on Track Changes, and then email the document back to me, the fonts' sizes change randomly throughout the document in places where I cut and pasted text as well as places where I types original text. Other things change too: the page number in the footer moves to the left although I formatted it to be centered.

The users are not in any kind of network and likely have a variety of PCs or Macs.

Anybody have any ideas?  Thanks for any suggestions.

Try this when you Cut and Paste.

  1. select text to cut then cut.
  2. Next when you paste use Paste Special
  3. Choose Text only the hit okay.

Doing this way the text takes on the Text, text size, and style, of the Paragraph being inserting.

Do this, save Document.  Then send. See if it makes a difference.

Also you have to remember That there are slight difference between the same font on Mac and PC that might can affect font size.

If this doesn't help be sure to come back so someone else can have a whack at it.

OK, thanks. I'll try Paste Special. I always have just used Command plus C/Command plus V to copy and paste but I'll try this and see what happens.
