I have used OneNote for a few years and really like it.
I recently switched from PC to Mac, and since the Office suite for Mac does not include OneNote, I have been using the web app that is included with Office 365. I use Chrome as my browser.
On two occasions now in the past week, I have had situations where OneNote did not save the changes to my documents. I use OneNote to create an agenda in advance of my meetings, which I cut and paste into an email document and send out to the other participants
one or two days before the meeting. Then on the day of the meeting, I open OneNote again, and add notes directly to the agenda as we discuss each item. That usually works fine for me, but two times, now, I have done that, and then when I go back later to
review the notes, all that is there is the original agenda, without the additional notes.
The first time it happened, I thought that perhaps I had lost my internet connection and hadn't realized it. (If that had happened, would I have even been able to type notes in the web app?). The second time, however, I was careful to make sure that
my connection was good so that wouldn't happen, but it still failed to save.
I have 10 OneNote notebooks that I use for meetings with various individuals or committees in my organization. The problem has only happened in one of the notebooks. The problematic notebook is not shared with anyone, because the others in the group
are not part of our organization's Exchange Server. Most, but not all, of the others are shared with at least one other person.
I have two questions:
- Is there something I should/could be doing to make sure that OneNote is saving new content when I am sure that the internet connection is good?
- When using the web app, is there a temporary file saved locally that I can retrieve somehow if it didn't upload to SkyDrive?
Thanks!
