Changing headers for Reports

In MS Project 2010, the headers for Reports are auto filled by some source.  How can I change header information to better facilitate

content description.  For instance, after having made a template project, I click reports, then select "overview", then select "project summary".

The default header title is Template1.  This title was used when I originally made the file, but has since been renamed.  However, the title does not seem to change with the file name.  The second line of the header is the company description which is fine.  Third line is the person who authorized my use of the program - not the person who is developing the projects or reports.  Finally the fourth line shows the current date.  I would like to be able to change at a  minimum, the first and third lines to best reflect project description and project owner.  Help.

Beginner mistake.  The Start date of the project is not pulled from the Start date of the first task.  You need to click the Project tab and then click the Project Information button.  In the Project Information dialog, enter the Start date for the project and click the OK button.

Also, if you manually typed the Start date of the first task, this caused Microsoft Project to set a Start No Earlier Than (SNET) constraint on the task.  You will need to remove that constraint.  To do this, double-click the task, click the Advanced tab, and change the Constraint Type value to As Soon as Possible.

    Hope this helps.

    Dale,

Thanks much.  that worked well.  As an extension to the Report challenges, I cannot get the "Start" date to reflect the first start date of the project.  In fact, I do not know where the this report is pulling the date from (because it is not a date within the project).  The project has a first start date of 1 Jan, 2015 (it is a template, so it will change from project to project).  The "Overview" / "Project Summary" report shows 11/11/14 as the start date.  Could the answer be as simple but hidden as the one you just provided me?

    Thank you

To change the Title for the project, click the File tab and then click the Info tab in the Backstage.  In the upper right corner of the Info page, click the Project Information pick list and select the Advanced Properties item on the menu.  On the Summary page of the Properties dialog, enter the correct name for the project in the Title field and then change the Manager value to whomever should show up on the third line of the header.  Then click the OK button.

Would you agree that the path to access the Properties dialog is pretty well buried in the Backstage of Microsoft Project 2010?  It is for this reason, I would recommend that you add the Advanced Document Properties button on the Quick Access Toolbar so that you can quickly access the Properties dialog in the future.

    Hope this helps.
