Paste functionality not working properly in Office 365

Just installed Office 365.  When using Copy and Paste, can only paste as "Unformatted Text" or "Unformatted Unicode Text".  Will not copy and paste formulas in Excel.  Does not offer the standard list of Paste special options.  Format copy button does nothing.  I've been using Excel since it was invented and I've never experienced such a thing.  Followed only Help suggestions to make sure it was turned on in Options and running in Safe Mode.  Nothing helps.  Same problem in both Word and Excel.

    So I almost figured this out.

    Last night I removed software based on last install date going back to the last time I know this worked a few weeks ago.  The software included:

    Citrix Online Launcher 1.0.258

    Go To Meeting 6.4.10.2185

    The Brain 8.0.1.14

    Quicktime 7.76.80.95

    iTunes 12.1.0.71

    DropBox 3.26

    iCloud For Windows 4.0.6.28

    Apple Mobile Device Support 8.1.0.18

    Apple Application Support (32 and 64 bit) 3.1.1

    None of these made a difference.

    Then I uninstalled:

    Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable 10.0.40219

    Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable 10.0.40219 and

    Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools 10.0.50903

    and rebooted and Yes!  Paste Special is back!!

    So, then I made a restore point called Paste Special Works.

    Tonight, I see that, at 9:58am this morning, Windows Update reinstalled

    Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable 10.0.40219

    Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable 10.0.40219 and

    Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools 10.0.50903

    AND - DELETED- ALL MY RESTORE POINTS!!!  (Currently using 28Mb of 90GB reserved).

    AND PASTE SPECIAL IS BROKEN AGAIN!!!!!!!!

    I deleted the offending Microsoft programs and rebooted, and it is still broken.   I would really like to [kill something and eat it]....but I won't.

    Same issue.  1) No Skype, let alone Click To Call.  2) Repair 365 didn't help.  3) Excel safe mode didn't help.  4) Complete uninstall and reinstall of 365 didn't help.

    I have also been using Excel since abandoning my Commodore 64 without ever experiencing this issue, plus it works fine on my old XP machine and on my Mac.

    It would be great if Microsoft seemed like they cared.  :)

    Hi all,

    I have been using Office 365 for a while and it was allright. Just noticed this issue about a week ago.

    Both copy/paste issue and format painter issue. I HAVE NO SKYPE call-on-click ever had installed on my PC. The widely discussed Skype's issue doesn't apply to me. Full online repair didn't sove the issue.

    Hello,

    Since the issue occurs on both Word and Excel, you may try repairing the Office installation and check if it helps in resolving the issue:

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/project-help/repair-or-remove-office-HA010357402.aspx

    Follow the steps and let us know if that helps. If the issue persists, reply and we will be happy to help you.

    Thank you
