I have a windows 8 tablet. My tablet was malfunction for a while so I decided to reset it. Before this Microsoft office was working great, but when they asked for the product key again it says "Sorry, this isn't a Microsoft Office 2013 product key. You may be entering a product key from  another version of office." Can  someone help me with this cause I really needed Microsoft word.

    Hello,

Mention how and from where was Office 2013 purchased?

Also for issues with the Microsoft Account that was used to purchase/register Office 2013, you may contact Microsoft by referring to the following link.

    http://commerce.microsoft.com/help

In the help page, under Getting help click on Contact Customer Support. Select a Product, Problem type and Category. Then either click on Call Me or Start chat for more help on this issue.

Hope this information helps you. In case you need assistance with the Office applications, reply to us.

    Thank you.

None of those solutions worked. Office doesn't recognise neither my email or product key and I only have one office installed.

    Just to follow up,

If you received the same error message, "Sorry, this isn't a Microsoft Office 2013 product key. You may be entering a product key from another version of office," check if the version of Office installed on your tablet is the same with the Office that you see on your Account Page.

To check which version of Office is installed on your tablet:

Open Word 2013 > File > Account > And you will see which Office is installed.

    or

Open Control Panel > Under Programs, choose Uninstall a program > Look for Microsoft Office

If you see a different version of Microsoft Office on your tablet, uninstall it using the Fix It tool:

Run the "Fix It" tool found on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501/en-us.

*Just hit on the "Fix It" icon > Run/Save > and it will automatically remove the current Microsoft Office that conflicts the Office 365 installation.

After the uninstallation is done, go back to http://office.com/myaccount to re-install your Microsoft Office. =)

    Hi,

Microsoft Office 2013 works by associating the product key to an email address. You mentioned that the Microsoft Office was working great which means that it could have been already associated to an email address on the first time that it was installed.

Since the product key is already associated to an email address, the system will not recognize the product key anymore. What you have to do is go to http://office.com/myaccount and sign in with the email address that was used to set it up.

If you see the Microsoft Office 2013 on the My Account page, go back to your Office application such as the Word 2013. If it prompts you to activate the product, look for the option 'Sign in with a Microsoft account instead.' Just sign in with the email address associated to your Microsoft Office an it will activate the program.

    Hope it works. =)

    Gale
