Dynamic chart changes when i copy it

Good afternoon,

I have a series of charts on a worksheet which are driven through dynamic ranges.  When i right click to do a copy of a sheet the names dissappear from the axis scales and it replaced by a range A10:A31 for example.

The new sheet will obviously have a new name, sheet2 for example, and the named ranges will update automatically within the new sheet name.  This is fine.

How can I make a copy of the worksheet without losing my named ranges in the graph axes?

Example of how its constructed if its any use.

Formula used to define FRED

  • ='7'!$BB$14:INDEX('7'!$BB$14:INDEX('7'!$BB:$BB;ROWS('7'!$BB:AQ));MATCH(9.99999999999999E+307;'7'!$BB$14:INDEX('7'!$BB:$BB;ROWS('7'!$BB:$BB));1))

Data used to define a chart

Name :   ='7'!$BB$13

X values : ='7'!DateRange

Y values : ='7'!FRED

thanks for your help

Hello again,

I'm afraid there is nothing you can do about that behaviour. Dynamic range names used in charts will revert to absolute cell references when the sheet is copied.

    Hi,

Thanks for offering to look at this.

    Heres the link.

Sheet 7 is the original and sheet 888888 is a copy to show you what goes wrong.

    Thanks a million

Is it possible for you to upload the sample file, if so then provide the link of the uploaded file.
