Cannot delete row

I just downloaded the Grocery List template and am trying to customize it for a different purpose. I want to remove a particular row but the delete function is grayed out if I try to right click and if I try to do so from the home tab. How can I delete the row? What I honestly just want to do is remove the formatting and just have plain, simple text. Since I cant figure out how to do that, I guess the easiest thing to do it to remove the row completely...right?? Help! Thanks! I am using Excel 2013 on Windows 8.

    Hi,

The Grocery List is formatted as a Structured Table (a very interesting feature...) - that's why you can't delete the Header row nor change the cells formatting. If you really want to do so you need to convert the Table to a Range:

    • Right-click anywhere in the Grocery List
    • Select Table / Convert to Range in the drop-down menu
    • Confirm

    Hope this helps

    Cheers

    Lz.
