Hello,

Sitting here with Office 365 Home Premium.

Created some nice pictures and thought i'd save them as .PNG and use them for some programming.

However I am not able to save as .PNG. Not even as .JPEG.

Any ideas why it doesn't work? All I found searching was that it should work. Sorry about the Swedish by the way...

Jay has given you one approach. Here's another:

    1. Select the drawing or text you want to save as a picture.
    2. Copy it.
    3. Click the arrow on the Paste button (left end of the Home tab) and choose Paste Special.
    4. In the Paste Special dialog, choose "Picture (Enhanced Metafile)."
    5. Right-click on the picture you just pasted and choose "Save as Picture." Several graphics formats are available, including JPEG and PNG.

Word doesn't have the ability to save entire documents -- even if they're only one page -- as graphic files of any kind. However, there are other possibilities.

The simplest method is built into Windows 7. On the Start menu, click Snipping Tool (if it isn't visible, use the search box to look for Snipping; or use the Run box to run SnippingTool.exe). Use its cross-shaped cursor to drag a box around the picture in the Word document. Then use the Save button in the tool to save as PNG, JPG, or GIF.

A more capable tool is SnagIt from TechSmith. In addition to its screen capture features, it installs a printer driver that will let you "print" a Word document (or other programs' documents) to a graphic file, which you can manipulate in their editor. A free, complete but time-limited trial is available for download.

Here is a screen shot of the Save As dialog in Word 2013 with the Save as type drop down expanded.  Please show me where it indicates that a file can be saved in png or jpeg format.

You are using the wrong tool for the job.  It would be better to use the free IrfanView graphics program.

The primary purpose of Word is to create documents, not graphics.
