Forms and Compatability Mode

I have just moved my organization to Office 365, with a combination of P1 and P3 licenses.  I am having trouble two problems with Word Online.

  1. Fillable Form Letters - Is there a way to do fillable form letters for Office Online users?  They have a word document that has fields in it and the rest of the letter is protected.  How can I do this with Office 365 Online?  Or even use the form online once it is created?
  2. Word Document stuck in Compatibility Mode.  I have one of these form letters and removed the edit restrictions/protection.  I did the File/Info/Convert to convert the letter.  But still shows compatibility mode when I try to open in Word Online.

I want to make Office 365 Online work but I am beginning to have my doubts.

Hi Steve,

Let me provide you the information you need.

Fields, content controls, cover page: These display in the document as expected in Reading view. In Editing view the content of fields and content controls are displayed but cannot be edited or updated. A cover page appears as a series of placeholders for elements like text boxes.

Refer the following link to fix the compatibility issue.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

Same issues here. I open my forms in Office Online and I see the content controls, but I cant fill them out. Is there something I am missing or is this feature not available to 365. If not will it come in future updates?
