find current date in resource usage view

Sometimes when I look at the resource usage view the date is WAY in the past. This is super annoying to have to use the right arrow to move through several years before I can get back to the current time. Is there a way to more efficiently move to a specific date in this view? I could see this being useful when you want to look at resource usage 6 months down the line or look back to last year.  However, the main goal would be to not be stuck in the past. I think a filter might work but not if I'm meerly stuck in the past for some reason.

hshayhorn,

Yes that can be frustrating. With some files the Resource Usage view will open to the current date while for others it will open to the Project start date or date of the first activity. However there is a quick way to get to the date associated with a particular assignment. Just select the assignment, then on the ribbon go to Task/Editing group and hit the Scroll to Task icon.

Hope this helps.
