When creating a hyperlink, and going to recent files, I have 4 files which I have deleted which always appears as a choice, is there a way to remove them  so I can have more choices of the recent files I have really used.

I have tried to clean the recent file folder in the options tab but this has not changed anything.

Could someone help me please?

Not sure if you have already tried this, but: At Internet Explorer or other browser go to “Tools,” -> “Options”-> “General” tab, and under “browsing history” click on “Settings.” At next tab “Temporary Internet Files” click on “View files,” under “Windows” find “History” and select files to delete. Also check under “My documents” folder for Word files to delete.  Right click on file and delete.

    Hello,

unfortunately this has not worked, these files do not appear in the "recent file"  on the file menu but only on the options for recent URL for hyperlinks. I work off a server but noticed that all files which are not going away from the list are all from my C drive, could that be a reason? In addition they are all word documents.

I have tried a long of things but I am running out of ideas.

At "Recent files" list, move cursor to file to be deleted, file will be highlighted, right click and choose "Remove from list."
