I have seen lots of complaints about this .. but in the latest Visio 2013 Microsoft has continued to ignore users on this.
In Visio:
Aligning shapes is a frequent and basic function. In fact probably one of the most used set of functions.
In 'the 'old days' (pre 2010) the buttons to align left/right/top/bottom were available as buttons that could be added to a the customisable ribbon.
This meant there was one action required to align.
Since 2010 the commands are not available in the long long list of available commands. The outcome of this is that every alignment need to button presses and makes aligning very arduous.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can we have our alignment but available in the customisable ribbon commands.
I have to ask .. I do wonder whether the designers actually use Visio in anger as this is a glaring omission as alignment is a basic function.
I LOVE the new right dialog that appears for Format Shape .. PLEASE could we have the same for Alignment.
I look forward to hearing your comments.
Visio is the 'bees knees' .. but please listen to your users more. I have used and developed in Microsoft for almost 30 years .. and a common complaint is that they feel like a black box with no interface. This forum helps as long as I get to speak to
someone in Microsoft that has power to make a difference.
