Cannot Move Word Documents

Hello,

I am a video producer and have just bought a new Seagate Backup Plus external 4TB hard drive. I am trying to move all of my older data off of my computer's HDD and onto the external. However, I cannot move any Microsoft Word documents! I get the message-- "Error 0x80070079: The semaphore timeout period has expired." I am using Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010.

Thanks,

Jack Reynolds

Nevermind,

The reason files couldn't be moved properly was due to a faulty connection in my USB 3.0 port.

Thanks for the help anyway!

Moving Word documents is not a function of Word and can be done completely independently of Word.  Are you using a utility supplied with the Hard Drive to move the files?  Make sure that Word is not running or at least that you do not have any documents open in Word when you are trying to move them as if one is open, you will not be able to move it.
