Tiny font on word document

I have no idea what happened but when I opened a new word document my font was tiny even though the zoom level was 100% and the Font size read as Times New Roman 12. I have checked other (older)  word documents and I can type in them with the normal font size so it only seems to be new word documents. Bold and underline also appeared randomly in the document although that seems to have stopped now. I am not having any problem with font size with Excel or Powerpoint.

Have you checked the character attributes with Command D?

Could the characters have Superscript or Subscript on?

Does anything change if you change to another font?

What size screen are you using?

For instance If I set Word or Excel to 100% (which btw means you see 100% of the entire page in the middle of the screen), the size of the Font will look minuscule.

I use a 17" (yes you read right- gosh am I going to hate to go to 15" screen my next Mac I have enough issues with eyesight) MacBook Pro 100% looks to be about 2" wide by 2.5-3 tall.

Go to zoom button on Standard Tool bar and set to "Page Width". To view at normal size 292%.

Oh what you see on screen doesn't translate exactly to what you see on screen. What is Printed will be in 12pt format is set for 12pt. While on screen it may look visually 20pt.

You are right on:) For some reason, the subscript had come on and stayed on for each new document. Thanks for the help.

If it does it with every new document, the fault lies in the Normal.dotm template, which is the "mold" from which all your documents are cast.

Let me know if that is the case and I'll tell you how to modify that template.
