auto fit rows without header

I am trying to autofit rows of multi-line wrapped text, but the autofit command keeps using the  row headings along the left margin rather than the text I've entered within the cells. How do I exclude the heading rows or columns when using auto fit?

    Autofit adjusts automatically to the height of the largest cell in a row. If your headings are the tallest cells in a row, then that's the row height Autofit will use.

    I haven't been able to reproduce this no matter what I try... even with the inclusion of Merged Cells [which normally botch anything :-)]. Nor have I seen any similar complaints from other users. Is the cell content rendered by a formula? Or was it typed into the cell?

    Have you tried simply restarting your Mac?

    It would also help to know;

    • Your present version update level of Office 2011
    • Your version of OS X
    • Whether you've tried in a different sheet... In a different workbook file
    • A detailed description of the nature of the source, content & structure of the file
    • Exactly what steps you're taking
    • What formatting is applied
    • Any additional detail you can provide

    I guess this could be only achieved by using a macro.

    Can you please share with the group what this reply is based on? I'm afraid I for one see no possible relevance to the question.
