Equation Editor problem in PowerPoint

I use the standard Equation Editor in PowerPoint.  I often get an error message "Too many windows open".   This happens when I try to edit an equation and when I save the file.

I have to click "OK" multiple times get this error message to go away.  It is then replaced with "There is not enough memory available to read Equation".

This problem happens even if I have only one PowerPoint file open.

The only solution I have is to close the file and/or restart PowerPoint.

Thank you for looking into my problem. To answer your questions:

    • This problem happens with all of my PowerPoint presentations.
    • I do not have Microsoft Fonts, as far as I know.
    • I am able to use the Equations Editor in Word 2013.
    • The keyboard language is English.
    • I do not have any active add-ins.
    • I should add that the Equation Editor works for a while, but the problem I described usually begins as soon as I hit 'Save'.  Then I have to close and re-open the file.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

I will help you with the PowerPoint issue.

Before we proceed I need more details:

Does the issue occur with a particular presentation or all presentations?

Have you installed non-Microsoft Fonts for Office 2013?

How does the equations work in Word 2013 documents?

What is the keyboard language setup on the computer?

Go to Control Panel, click Language.

Provide more details to assist you better.

Meanwhile, you may check the equations in a new PowerPoint presentation and check if the issue occurs.

If the issue persists, you may disable the add-ins for PowerPoint and verify:

    • Click the File tab.
    • Go to Options.
    • Click Add-ins.
    • Clear all the options.

Let us know the details and results for further assistance.

    Thank you.
