Cannot add rows to shared spreadsheet in Excel Web App

Hi,

Ever since the January 2014 update to the Excel Web App with the "Tell Me" feature, the app is giving an error when trying to add rows to a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet file is shared on SkyDrive and there are no issues when the file owner attempts to add rows.

For anyone else, attempting to add rows results in an error message such as:

"Sorry, something went wrong.

Could you please try that again?

Give Feedback

Error Id: 8ffe9a4c-9879-4818-96de-80628e800a82, 20140124042951"

This has been verified on several browsers and platforms, including IE11 on Windows 7 and Safari 7 on OS X 10.9. Logging in as the file owner allows rows to be edited.

This has made it impossible for us to work on a spreadsheet simultaneously, so could anyone confirm this is a known issue? We have already tried the Give Feedback option that appears in the error dialog.

Thanks.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your assistance.

Sometime last week the file owner also could not add rows to the spreadsheet and also resulted in the same error message.

I have just tried adding rows again after seeing your reply and it appears to have been fixed judging from a quick test with both file owner and shared user.

I will post if the situation changes, but for now it looks good. :)

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I apologize for not replying in a timely manner.

    1. Let's create a new Excel file and upload it on SkyDrive.
    2. Now share the uploaded Excel file and inform other users to try adding rows in it and verify the result.

Reply with the result and I'll be glad to help you further.

    Thank you.
