Flickering Command Buttons

I started a thread about this a while back. Tried reposting to old thread when I got more info, but no one took the bait. So I am starting fresh...Hope that's ok.

I really really really want to roll out my 2003 mde with Access Runtime 2010, BUT...

2003 mde running on 2003: command buttons on switchboard are fine

2003 mde running on 2007 runtime: command buttons on switchboard are fine

2003 mde running on 2010 runtime: command buttons on switchboard flicker on mouse over.

NEW INFO: Only happens on forms with my own .jpg as the Picture property of the form.

Picture Type: Linked

Picture Size Mode: Stretch

Picture Alignment: Top Left

The jpg is simply a single color with a gradient added to it in photoshop:

I already tried bmp, tif, gif and jpg. No difference.

    1. Won't I lose all my system.mdw settings if I convert the database to an accde?
    2. Will an accde read a system.mdw?
    3. Will an mdb convert directly to an accde?

Maybe it's the image file type. Try converting it to a BMP. It's a longshot, but it might work.

But as Tom said, why not convert the database to an accde?

SORRY, YOU MISREAD MY ISSUE:  The command buttons are not pictures... The form background is a picture.

My extensive levels of security using system.mdw are my reasons for not upgrading to accdb.

What is so great about this combination? Why not upgrade to accdb and then create an accde for distribution?

Also, I'm not sure I see the point of using a picture for this button. I think you can get pretty close to this by using a standard button and a text caption on it.
