Simply click on the 'Browse' button, then navigate to and select your Word executable. You may want to uncheck the 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' option, though.

Already tried browsing to Winword.exe - but it still wont open in Word - it just opens with G Chrome

I have even installed Word 2003 again - the .html files immediately turn into word/html icons (display the association) and the html files open fine with Word 2003

Uninstall Word 2003 and Just will not associate or even open with Word 2007?

Only way is from the Word file/open menu

Strikes me it's an install error but I've installed it 3 times

You can only have one application as the default for association with a given file extension. If you want Word 2007 to be the default application for opening all html files, then you'll need to leave the 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' option checked when selecting one with WinWord.exe. Plus, since you seem to have both Word 2003 & Word 2007 installed, you'll need to make sure you navigate to the correct folder - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12.

Yes I do only have Word 2007 installed (only installed 2003 temporarily to try it and removed it again)

but Word 2007 just will not associate with .html files

even after navigating to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 winword.exe and clicking Open,

the html file opens with Google Chrome (removed Chrome and then it Opened with Explorer)

Word 2007 will just not recognise html - unless I use Word Menu Open>File

I think its an install error and so I installed it 3 times without success - Looks like I'll just have to re-install Word 2003 and use that

EDIT: Desperate times call for desperate measures - reinstalled 'Windows' and it now works fine

And here I was about to suggest checking what your html editor defaults are. In IE, at least, you can set it to Microsoft Word (for Word 2003) or Microsoft Office Word (for 2010). I wondered too if Chrome was interacting with your Office 2007 installation, but not office 2003 ('cause its too old?)...
