Excel 2010 formula window automatic resize

In Excel 2003, the formula window displayed near the command bar at the top of the window would automatically expand or shrink as you typed in or deleted text.  If the window expanded, it may cover part of the worksheet.

In Excel 2010, the formula window does not automatically expand or shrink.  You can manually resize the formula window, but this pushes the worksheet down.  This is a PITA if you have cells with little to large amounts of text.

Is there a way in Excel 2010 to automatically resize the formula window ?  I want the same behavior as Excel 2003.

thanks.

Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

There is no option to automatically control the formula bar to expand and retract in Excel 2010 or latest version.

However in order to Expand and retract that formula bar, use Ctrl + Shift + U. But again, this would be a manual option.
