Hello,
I have files saved in Excel that I would like to have opened in alphabetical order but Excel 2010 seems to open them in a random order (they are harder for me to find that way as there are many files).
Is there a way to fix this?

I assume you mean that they are listed in the File > Open dialog in a non-alphabetic order.
Right-click the background of the pane in the dialog in which the files are listed and Sort by > Name
